These files are for the great free guitar tab software called Power Tab Editor 1.7
The application will play the songs on your computer along with the beat, so
you can hear the timing and note durations, in case you can't read standard
notation. You can also print the scores out, for study.
I created these modern tablatures from facsimiles of the original 17th century
tab. The main difference in the tabs is that the strings are reversed on the
older format, with the low pitch strings at the top of the staff. I found this to be
distracting. Also, notes have been added occasionally where needed to
complete the harmonic structure, due to the lack of octave doubled courses on
the modern D and A strings.
New pieces will be added as they are completed.
